Happy St. Patty's Day and a Paper Thrills Layout: A Good Reader

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I just got back from a quick little look up on Wikipedia to see if a lot of countries celebrate this holiday and it appears that they do! I know at the Pratt House we're going to have Corned Beef and Cabbage..not sure what else we might do as far as all that goes...but, I did think I'd share a nice green page!

Based off a nice sketch up on Sketchabilities and chock full of green things like a little cabbage seed packet and a lucky bingo card! Not linking it up 'cause the challenge is past...but LOVE this sketch!

I am playing along with Paper Thrills for my very first time. Here is their challenge:  This week's challenge was to create a monochromatic layout in the palette of green. Neutrals like black, white and brown are allowed, but everything else is green!

And here is a close up of all that fun stuff!

Do you see my little Leprechaun stuck in the little bird cage? I got the Lucky Card, little birdcage, and keyhole from Lisa from Kansas in my cool package. She also made those nifty dandy hanky leaves!!! I can't wait to try that technique myself!! I also bought that little Leprechaun digitally from The Paper Shelter

And, how do you like my big misted doily?

This was my find at the second hand store for a dollar!!!  Plastic doilies! I KNOW, who would have thought.

Now, I don't have a hankering for some plastic doily decor around the house, but I think they make great great misted doilies.

I said Thursday that I would offer my two extra doilies to the first two lucky girls who drop me a message or leave me a comment that they played along with Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge! And with your doily, I will also send you a little Tim Holtz book plate that I have been messing around with. Hard to see here, but they are see through and really pretty.

In case you need further reason to covet one of those lovely plastic reusable doilies, here are a few things you can do with them.

But oh wait, it gets better. I like the purse myself.

oh! And chicken wire! Yes, can you see oh very faintly in black glimmermist the outline of it by the A? No, you still don't see it????? Oh imagine it!  Still working on my chicken wire mojo!!!

So have a great day, wear some green, and do some scrappin'! And if you drink green beer like some do here in the States, you might want to skip the scrappin'!

  6. This is a lovely, lovely LO & all the detail is gorgeous...I didn't even wear any green. I'm a failure of an long-ago Irish descendant, very obviously...I'm glad it inspired you, tho:):):)
