A Seriously Freak Storm Layout for Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

My previous post has the story behind this page.

Our newest challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge is up and involves storms!

Here is what Anne has to say:

April showers bring May flowers – scrap about a rainfall, or storm.  Perhaps the weather ruined your plans, or perhaps you were experiencing a drought or dry well and were relieved to see the heavens open.

Or you can scrap about anything in the springtime, how it makes you feel after the long winter, new life, whatever speaks of this time to you!! You might not want to scrap about your garden though, as you may be doing that soon here – hint, hint!!

Please use this sketch for the challenge.

So, I had to use the word FREAK in my title. I still pinch myself at least a couple of times a month since I'm on the design team with the coolest name in the universe.
I interpreted the LARGE title on the layout to mean a strong title!

And, here is a sideways view of some misting I did. The canvas behind the title was misted with similar colors to match.

I wanted to use bright cheerful colors although it was a sad day with the fallen trees and storm. Although it was sad that our car was damaged, my parents got a lot of help taking down dangerous trees and a jump start on the beautiful property they have today.

That is what the butterfly represents!

I hope you will come play along!

  4. Love this page - it is so interesting & eclectic! Love the white diecut piece in the centre -did you cut that yourself or is it from a pre-bought piece - lovely!! Sad story though but as you say it was good for something...

  5. I love that you found such creative ways to represent snow on this layout (the big white die cut, the misted doily...). You added so much interest and impact to the layout, without actually using snowflake-themed products.
