A Little LESSology Chest O' Drawers Challenge

Spotted this little guy in the Second Hand store for a whole dollar! I normally wouldn't have picked this up but there was a challenge up at LESSology that I wanted to try.  Plus, I had this very lovely vintage Zeus and Zoe postcard that I really wanted to use.

Check out how pretty is it! And it's the real deal. It had Happy Birthday down in the corner, which is why I added a few roses and a little snippet of a lace doily that was falling to pieces. LOVE that fern!

Added a coat of Tim Holtz Rock Candy over the top for the crackles and then modge podged over top of them to make sure they stayed right where they were!

This whole project likely cost me a whole whopping $3 in TOTAL! ;-)

Most of it would be the various coats of modge podge.

I had to modge podge the inside as it was going for an antique trunk look with paper lining. I was also going for a vintage rough look on the finish.

As I write this, it strikes me as funny. So this little chest started out being pretty battered. I repainted it with black spray paint, then a coat of copper, then various inks and then made it look even older than it did before....

Here is a shot of the top of false drawer. As you can see, there might have been a mirror there previously. I am still trying to figure out what I might add there to finish it off. I am hoping I come across something while junking that is perfect!

If my luck holds out and I find a mirror, I'll be adding this to my Junk2Funk show. If not, it will hold some scrappin' stash for a bit!

There are some cute projects that the LESSology Design Team came up with, go take a peek!

Happy Monday!
