Celebrate the Little Things page for Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge blog
Spotted this paper at the local scrapbooking store. I like to pop in there now and again. Besides, the salty dog crafter dude who I normally talk to greeted me with, hey, check back in two weeks we'll have new stuff. It's fun to buy stuff and get a little bit of attitude now and again from a GUY! Now, if it was a girl, I'd be tempted to maybe think up inventive names....besides, he'll call me and tell me when stuff is in. I like that. It's almost as good as a package in the mail! ;-)
Anyhow, it was thick and vintagey, and made me happy. I was going to stash it for a Thanksgiving page with all the food references, but then, somehow it ended up in the middle of the craft table with things stuck to it and the rest is history. Anyhow, the paper is called Happy Days by Lori Whitlock and is produced by Echo Park.
I must have a thing for feet as mine got stuck to this page! I do love me a good pair of boots for stompin' around. (please read that using Tow Mater's voice and I'll be extra happy)
Anyhow, this is for Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge. Their challenge is to : to scrap about a belief, or philosophy you have – it can be something deep or something silly. It might be a religious or other philosophy, or something as light as your theory on how you can put two socks into the washing machine and only one ever comes back to you. Take this challenge as seriously or not as you would like to!!
Basically my personal belief is that life is not always about big moments, but a serious of small things that bring simple joy. From stomping around in your favorite boots to using your favorite soap, it's all about the little things. And, another big belief I incorporated was the one on having a meal together as a family. The week days are so super busy that it's easy to get wrapped up in after school activities, homework, exercise class, and even scrappin' that you don't get time to all sit down together and talk. In fact just last week I got the most excellent story from my son when we were driving somewhere together, just the two of us.
He told me that he has a big crush on this girl in his class. I asked him if he had told her yet. And he said that he had tried, but he got in trouble. I said, OH no! What happened? He told me that he had tried to tell her how beautiful she was by comparing her hair to Cleopatra. Which resulted in her marching up to tell the Teacher that Luke had insulted her. Poor thing. His Dad told him that girls are confusing and probably will never make sense anyhow and if he happens to get it right, it will be purely by chance.
Anyhow, this little Tim Holtz tape covered tag made me happy as did the cutie pie letters from Glitz!
And, anther thing that made me happy was to be recognized by Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge for my Gather Ye Rosebuds page. Happy Dance!
Go check them out, they have a cool DT and some awesome fun challenges.

ReplyDeleteSo cool you have a guy who calls and tells you when groovy new stuff comes in. LOVE that paper.
Fabulous page and great idea for a topic. You are absolutely right about the little things. Love the tape covered tag, so cool. TFS!
ReplyDeleteThis is so AWESOME. I love it. I love all the little bits of info, the glimmer misted/stained lace. Life is full of little momments that make us who we are, and you captured this beautifully. I also believe dinner should be at the table , away from distractions of tv ect. The only thing at our house at the momment is my two youngest are not so sure about staying in one place for more than 2 seconds :-) Again thankyou so much for coming along and playing at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge. Awesome :-)
