Oh Blog Land, you are so inspiring!
Spotted this post at Lisa's Blog yesterday. We made a project together and I've never even MET her!!!
Thought it was only fitting I too play along with the challenge.
Over at Our Creative Corner, they are asking for items using "frames" and I had picked this lovely one up the other day at the Second Hand store. It was pretty cool on it's own, but minus glass or anything else....but reminded me of either a pine cone or perhaps fashion?
Also thought it might be fun to use a tart pan as backing which is also from the second hand store! It was originally silver, but painted it black to match!
Of course the lovely Oct. Afternoon Paper made a super cool back ground.
And, here it is one more time! ;-)
Oh how fabulous.. the frame reminds me of snake skin.. Love the flowers.. clever you!
ReplyDelete...and the Other Lizzy says...ditto:):) My fave is that green spotty flower in the corner as well as the mix of textures:):) So Dalrymple is a popular name, eh? It's a bit of a joke in our house...must tell you one day. Bit boring c/f to the quill story, tho:):):) Off to check out your links from your post!!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG....It's AMAZING!!! I have one of these laying in my heap of collections and had no idea what to do with...WOO HOO!!!!! Your inspirational frame is OUTSTANDING chica. :) I hope you win!!! This is fantastic. :D So many smiley faces in this message...I can't stop...... :D

ReplyDeleteWOW WOW WOW - It's brilliant! Those flowers are gorgeous and really well put together! The frame looks like leather... all your elements are perfection! Thanks for joining our challenge this week at Our Creative Corner! Marcy XO
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting project! Beautiful, unique, stunning and colorful. Thank you for sharing your talent with us this week on Our Creative Corner!
ReplyDeleteHello Mitra
ReplyDeleteI can see why Quirks (Lisa M) and you get on so well, you have the same unorthodox and unconventional imagination when it comes to design; this project is a feast for the eyes! It is so refreshing in this sometimes plebeian forum to see someone taking a theme and allowing your creative mind to take it as far as it can go, but at the same time keeping within the requirements of the Challenge.
Your tart pan is dramatic but it does not overpower the frame which you have embellished amazingly with the flowers, and even though your centre image is busy and gorgeous it is low key which is what I was looking for in this Challenge; the frame being the priority. I could say much more but I will leave it for another time.
Well done indeed Mitra, and thank you so very much for joining us this week at Our Creative Corner, we are so pleased you did, and you must join in again, as I for one would love to see how you interpret the upcoming Challenges.
Smiles:)
Sue
