Field Trip to the Cornell Learning Farm: Another Freaking Scrappy

This field trip was discussed MONTHS in advance at my house. Lexi was taking a class called CSI that combined science & health. As far as I could tell, her two awesome cool teachers got a class together and offered it to certain kids who were interested. The culmination of the class was a field trip to the Cornell Learning Farm where they built their own shelters, made their own fires, and tried their hand at geocaching.

I believe she will remember this field trip for a long time...which rolls right into the latest challenge over at Another Freaking Scrappy:  Scrap or art journal about a favourite summer memory.  From your long ago past, or recent past, or right now!

Now just a quick word about these photos. My daughter took them especially for this page, on purpose, which I thought was super cool!

Since I had so many to choose from, I made a photo collage in Picasa. I also printed one of the photos out in large format on white paper for my background. It's really a lovey farm. We used to drive past it often when we lived up North.

I kept the embellishments fairly simple due to the large photo collage, big wooden 7 and also the two different sets of journaling as Lexi wrote on this page as well.

I hope you get a chance to play along and capture some of those awesome memories!

And quick shout out to all those awesome teachers out there who make events like this that are so memorable!

  1. Sounds like a very interesting and fun place to go, no wonder it stands out as such a good memory. You have really made your layout pop, the pictures in the collage with the white framing are so eye catching. Love this layout Mitra & such a good memory to record

  2. WOW I didn't realise the background was a photo to until you pointed it out. A very eye catching page full of life and FUN. Give Lexi Daisy's love and tell her to keep making those kind of memories. x

  3. Looooove the big pic bg.....the staples...the writing around the edge...the orange. It's all scrumptious:):)

  4. Love the photos and the LO is fantastic!

  5. Did I read that right? Lexi said she's not really outdoors-y? LOL..poor thing. You guys live in such nature filled places with much outdoors-y elements and critters n' such. Glad she enjoyed the field trip. The pictures she took were perfect for sharing the memory. :)
    YEAH air conditioning and Netflix!!

I LOVE comments. Come on. Leave me one. They make me smile!
