Graphic 45 Magnetic Memo Board

ohhhh I love this project so very very much!

It wasn't all that difficult to put together either!

So, basically the other day while out and about, I found this unpainted board in the second hand store for $4. It seemed like a lot for something that dated back to when the Ames Store was in Canton. Which I remember when I was here at school. But that was a lonnnnnnnng time ago! And the price tag from Ames was $6!!!

Anyhow, interestingly enough, it was 12 by 12 on the inset part and I could easily see a scrap piece of metal under a cool piece of scrapbook paper.

Spotted this awesome sheet of Graphic 45 paper at Misty Hollow in Potsdam and a plan was born.

Here is the board prior to the additional of paper. See my scrap metal? I dyed it green with some alcohol ink so I could take full use of the rust. THE MAN thought I was NUTS for keeping the rust and not spray painting this metal!

And, here is a close up of my decorations. I got the peacock feather and key from my Zeus and Zoe Kit. Tucked them in behind my gigantic red poppy I made for this board. It was a cutting file I downloaded for my Silhouette and was inked up and then dyed with glimmermist. I shaped it while it was wet and I was super pleased how it turned out.

I also made two little magnets for this board. I used some dimensional modge podge to attach the images to the back of the glass. Since I scanned in my paper and printed it much smaller, it was a real photo and some fading occurred when the glue came in contact with the photo. I may redo those or just love them how they are.

And just another close up of all my bling!

yes, yet another project for my Junk2Funk show!

Linking this up with Scrap For Help where they are requiring you use buttons in your layout. Believe it or not, that fancy metal center on the accordian flower is a very bling-terr-iffic button as is the one hiding under the edge of the poppy! They are almost over the top amazing, but since I was going for a very vintage look, I think they work!!! I did have a moment when I took them out of my stash, applied hot glue and knew they were leaving me, sigh!

And? Anyone looking to start a new kit club? Or those of you already running one? Sign me up for a monthly kit club that includes a sheet or two of Graphic 45 Paper and challenge me to use it! I'd be all over that!

Have a great Wednesday as it's HUMP DAY!
