Oval Altered Frame for Berry71bleu

There is a great challenge up at Berry71bleu where they are asking you to use a photo to draw inspiration from.

The cake looked lovely, but somehow the green on the side of the cake reminded me of  moss, so had to use some of that in my project. And of course, the color scheme was great too!

The box at the top holding stuff, made me think to use this little house perhaps in the same color as the box.

Mine is holding itty bitty photos of my whole family, yes two kids, two dogs, and two cats!

Here is another view of it on a stand. I intend to display it in my kitchen just like this. It's easier to see all the photos IRL as the glare is coming from the glass slides I placed on top of them. The circle at the top is a photo of our current house!

Now a word about my oval frame here. A few weeks ago I took a deep dive in one of our storage areas looking for some framed things to hang up in my spare room. This oval frame emerged. It was slightly chipped and the photo was pretty old. So, I decided it would be something to alter.

So, last Sunday after doing a bunch of firewood, THE MAN and I decided to have a glass of wine and hang out in his shop a bit. I had a few things I really wanted some help with.

The day before I had come home with a load of junk. I am sharing it with you here. No doubt very soon you will see some of it again. That ugly pink think? An antique shade....

Next thing you know, we have the saw out and he's teaching me how to cut off the corners of that house you see below so it will fit into my frame! And cut out a piece of thin board as backer. Amazing. I am a tool woman, look out world!

You might just see in that side shot there the gesso I used in the background. I did then spray it a bit with some very light blue glimmermist.

And how do you like all the goodies? They are from my April Scraptastic Kit. LOVE my kits!

Here is another side shot. Do you spy that little key! That is from Marivic's New Shop, Zeus and Zoe!

Go have a play along after you shopping at bit at Zeus and Zoe! Great stuff!

I'll be back tomorrow (I think) with an Eastery Post. If I don't make it? Have a SUPER HAPPY EASTER!
