4th of July Double Page Layout for the MMD Divas!
Morning Blog Land! July is in our rear view mirror and I thought I'd post my last pages from the 4th of July Holiday.
A double page layout made for the Miracles Mamma Designs Team!
Great start with this awesome sketch from Heather. My Sis in Law keeps asking where do I get my sketches, well, here is a great place to start.
Heather gives them away free!
AND if you send her your page using her sketch, she puts your page on her blog. ;-) Easy peasy!
Took a few liberties and added a FEW MORE photos to tell the whole story. None of me from that day, I but you have a super fun one of THE MAN's DADDY and the face he was making. I THINK and don't quote me here, he was making a special fun face...but somehow it didn't turn out that way???
And I cheated a wee bit here.
I bought flowers to put together and make. I just made a quick hole in the stack of paper blooms and added those centers. A bit of yellow CHEESE CLOTH to coordinate my Father In Law's shirt, who did NOT get the message that everyone was wearing red, white and blue...
I also got to do something else that is really rare for me. I SHOPPED for the paper I used.
I know! Can you imagine! I picked them all out myself.
I used to do that back in the day when craft stores were a lunch time treat. These days I make do! ;-)
Check this post out where you can see the beginning part of this page laid out in the hotel! Part of the reason I also bought premade paper flowers was that I knew I'd be stretched for time to get this layout in.
A few of the flowers on here are a donation from cool neighbor Shirley and the leaves are all the way from South Africa by way of Helen. The ripped paper on the side is something I've noticed on ScrapFriend Sketches, so I blame Lizzy Hill for that!
And, since I always like to tell the whole story even if it takes 1,050 words, this double page layout is for my SIS IN LAW who made everyone pose. I think it's a cool idea even if I never think of it! She also convinced the small people to wear their red, white and blue while I was worried about that chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and if I could stash it somewhere just for me...
You can see it peeking out there on the top left hand photo....
So, I leave you with that, thoughts of chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting on a Thursday....
