Lessons with John Scrapbook page for Another Freaking

Being the first of the month, there is of course a new challenge up at Another Freaking Scrappy.

September is back to school in North America – scrap about a teacher or someone who inspired you,
believed in you, helped you in some way. If you have a photo of them, use it. If not place a photo of
you or something else that is representative of how they inspired you.

It's a fun challenge. The best part of me was having so many people to pick from I ended up calling my parents to see what teachers they had photos of. NEVER in a million years would have remembered back to my first ballet lessons.

There is a very interesting thing that I learned from John Haynes O'Neil when I was a wee one. Besides early ballet techniques, he had us kids sit in a nearly dark studio and imagine a frame with a video in it. My frame was pretty and gold. He had us imagine something going wrong with our dance move. And then, imagine the frame again with the move going perfect and right. He said that this visualization would also work with school.

It has stuck with me for years and in fact sometimes before going to bed, I use that technique if I am worried about the next day.

As you can see, I carried that frame theme onto my page and put the words John over top using hot glue and glitter!

Had a great time with this page. The dress form was really fun to play with.

It is made by ScrapFX and I got it from Marivic's etsy store for Zeus & Zoe. LOVED dying that lace to use as the skirt. It was three different shades of ink pad inks that I ran over the lace and then I poured alcohol over the whole thing to let the ink run for that look.

Marivic also sent me this paper in a recent Z&Z kit and it was perfect for this page, proving her ESP like abilities! ;-) She also carries Manor House Flowers over there too, eeek!

Wish I had some to use, I had to dye these Prima ones that started our turquoise!

And a quick shout to to Alison who sent me that adorable little card with the roses. I found it was perfect for my page!

And I'm off to make some french toast! Natives are getting restless and must be fed. ;-)

I'm painting again today...wish me luck???

Small country town high school in the 70's...the parents thought we were being turned into rebel rousing hippies with Odd Ideas & were most incensed!!!! LOVE your dress form..it works so, so well...gorgeous colour:):):)
