It's all fun and games until....Scrapbook Page
I had a bit of fun with this page this past weekend.
I had stopped by the local craft store and he had this kit in from October Afternoon I had to have...so mixed that up with my new May Scraptastic Kit and I had a ball. I always love blue and yellow.
I had an awesome sketch to use from Sketches with a Twist where Lizzy C. is on the design team.
Wanted to use three photos, but Lexi only would let me take one and then hid under a pillow. She was having a bit of a moment this weekend. Thankfully she is a cheerful child and it went better than I thought it would.
But you can read the journaling for yourself....I do really hate this slow painful transition into teenage years which is why October Afternoon cheered me up a bit. I had two dresses to pick from and went with the pink....I miss the twirly dress days where we didn't have the drama.
And here is close up of my fussy cutting. I cut this ticket out of the blue paper that is scallopy. I want to enter this page in the latest ScrapFit challenge for fussy cutting!
My title cracks me up. Reminds me of a Mom yelling: It's all Fun and Games until someone loses an EYE! Or Gets HURT! which is why I came up with it since Lexi was a bit hurt. Oh well, this is just the TIP of the Iceberg and I rest easy knowing she will not grow up to be a meanie 'cause I'm not letting her!
Anyhow, Happy Tuesday!

This is sooo poignant...I remember those awful times as a kid when you thought the world would end.Luckily it didn't. GREAT take on the sketch ~ great fussy cutting & yes, they are fantastic papers:):) Like that big scalloped edge underneath:):):) I like how you scrap the sad with the glad times...makes it 'real':):)
ReplyDeleteHI... This is so wonderfully creative and hilarious at the same time... I can so relate with the teenager bit, I am having a break from teens for a while, I have a 20 year old and an 11 year old at home at the moment.. but the teenage girl bit I found sooo hard at times...I love the way you have used the sketch too, I like it a lot!! I hope you are having a great day!!

Poor kid, growing up can really stink sometimes, but no doubt she'll come out wiser on the other side as I'm sure Mom n' Dad have invested in bringing up a well rounded, honest, generous and loving young lady. I'm sure they were bored anyway and wished she was there. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhen my daughter has sleepovers, she's learned the hard way, only one friend at a time. More than 2 is a front row ticket to dramaville.
I adore your layout, Mitra. The whimsical vintage retro appeal is perfect. The color combination just brings out the fun and that little whirly swirly button with twine....ADORABLE!!!
A fantastic LO Mitra - love the colours and definately your chosen papers.. a great take on the sketch and a great story behind the LO which is why we scrap in the first place.. years down the track lexie will look back at this LO and hopefully laugh about her teenage years :) - thank you for being a part of SWAT this month.
